-My name is Shelly Bluhm. I have a child who was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 5. My son Travis was always, from the time he was conceived, a very active child. His delivery was very traumatic for both of us. Immediately upon birth Travis was taken to a specialist in the hospital to be observed for a neurological disorder the doctors believed to be caused by the birthing process.
 
-Travis was, and still is a very active child. When he was younger, he was the kind of child you couldn’t let out of your sight for fear that he was doing something he shouldn’t be doing. Prior to his school years I was able to keep him busy with many “projects” to entertain his active little mind. It wasn’t until Travis started school that the real problems with ADHD began. . . .
 
-Immediately upon putting my son into elementary school, I was called in for a meeting to discuss Travis’ behavior. It was recommended at that time that he be evaluated by the school, and his doctor, for ADHD. It was also recommended that he go on medication to control his “overactive” behavior and “lack of focus”. I fought the school system for a year and refused to put Travis on medication. I was worried and afraid of what this medication would do to my child. By the time Travis entered the first grade, I was so stressed from the constant phone calls from the school asking me to put him on medication. I am a single mother, at the time I had two small children. I worked full time and traveled frequently with my job. I felt totally hopeless, as though I had no choice but to medicate my son.
 
-Travis was always happy and full of life. The medication took this away from him. I noticed a personality change immediately. He went from always smiling to very rarely smiling. He went from always playing and joking around to a very serious little boy and kept very much to himself. His appetite decreased, his activity level decreased, and he would stay awake for hours past his bedtime. Still, I continued to medicate my son so we could get through the school day.
 
-A very special friend asked me to let Travis speak with Vaidya Naram. We set up an initial phone consultation. Dr. Naram recommended herbal supplements for Travis and my friend asked me to stop giving him the ADHD medication. A few months later, while on his Spring Tour, my sons and I went to see Vaidya Naram in person. His appetite has returned, he easily fall to sleep at bedtime and he is now taller than his younger brother! The light has come back into Travis’ eyes and his true personality is shining through. He is vibrant, happy and full of life! Because of Vaidya Pankaj Naram, once again my son has a smile on his face!!!
